Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc held a press conference today to answer questions about him possibly becoming a temporary replacement for Raymond Domenech as coach of the French national team. The rumors started earlier this week and Bordeaux President Jean-Louis Triaud said that he would be open to the possibility of allowing the former French international to take over the club, but only on a temporary basis.
Blanc said in the press conference that he has enough time trying to motivate the players on Bordeaux to play well, and that he doesn’t need all this talk about him leaving the team to become head of the French national squad. He also said that if he would have taken the job, it would have been after the 2008 Euros and not now.
Blanc continued by saying that all this talk needs to stop and that he doesn’t want to be in the middle of a debate between the media and the firing or Raymond Domenech.
