After losing Pele, Toulouse lose Blondel

The 3rd kid from the left might be Le Tef's starting goaltender.

Last week, Toulouse FC lost their star goaltender Yoann Pele to injury. In addition their 3rd string goalkeeper, Marc Vidal, had also suffered an injury.

Therefore, Toulouse’s hopes rested on the shoulders of their second goaltender, Olivier Blondel.

In the last few games, Blondel has looked quite impressive. He looked like he was the answer for Toulouse in goal.

Then Tuesday team practice came, and Blondel fractured his ankle and will be out the rest of the season.

So who is Toulouse’s goaltender? Who knows! Even manager Alain Casanova (a former Toulouse goalkeeper himself) said that he has no idea who he intends on playing in goal for the Thursday’s match against Sochaux.

For the last few weeks, 17-year old goaltender Anthony Loustallot has been the third goaltender during the absence of Marc Vidal. Therefore, Toulouse’s hopes and dreams might hang on the hands of a 17-year old goaltender who will, more than likely, be thrown into the Ligue 1 fire in two days times.

Marc Vidal, who should assume goaltending duties when he returns, has continued running in practice and should be available shortly for Le Tef.
