One of the best players in all of Ligue 1, Eden Hazard, signed a contract extension with Lille today that will see him play for the team for another two years. Hazard, the Belgian international who has shown his skill, especially in the last two months, will be with the team until 2014.
In the last few months, there had been talk about Hazard moving to England, especially Arsenal. But it looks like that this signing by the club shows that this year’s good performance is giving them even more confidence to win the Ligue 1 title in the coming years. And Hazard, who is only 19 years old, is exactly what the team needs.
“What motivated my choice? Simply, the LOSC sports project in one that I find particularly interesting and attractive. It is true that it has gone very well since I took my first steps as a professional and it continues as our results show. So naturally I decided to prolong the adventure here,” said Hazard according to Top Mercato.com.
While only having three goals this season, Hazard has been able to show that his is one of the best players not just on Lille, but in Ligue 1 as well. In addition to the three goals, he also have five assists this year. He has also contributed to many of the goals that have been scored this year by Lille, especially during their recent tear through the Ligue 1 standings.
