Kate McKinnon plays Jeff Sessions as Forrest Gump in SNL cold open

Instead of Tom Hanks, it was Attorney General Jeff Sessions (Kate McKinnon) at the bus stop, eating chocolates and confiding in strangers about a rather momentous week.

And now, Kate McKinnon has mocked him on his boss' favorite show, Saturday Night Live.

Kate McKinnon, 33, dressed up in a fitted grey suit with a flawless coif to portray Jeff Sessions, 70, for SNL's cold open, in a Forrest Gump inspired skit.

Playing on the week's news, the sketch used the format of Forrest Gump' s bus bench scenes to poke fun at Sessions' lie under oath. "Folks were thrilled on account of it was real words in a roll for a whole hour", she says, adding that she then began receiving alerts accusing her of being a liar, ostensibly in reference to accusations Attorney General Sessions didn't disclose his meetings with the Russian ambassador during the US presidential election.

"This whole mess began with a Congressional hearing", Sessions said.

With a soon-to-be passenger, Sessions then talks about his controversial week, which many feel overshadowed the President's first well-received speech as POTUS. Then, when Sessions in the SNL Forrest Gump parody busted out the requisite box of chocolates and offered them to Leslie Jones on the bench next to him, he commented that "There sure are a lot of brown ones in there".

The calls come as it is revealed that Sessions met the Russian envoy during the United States election campaign. The Senator from up north started asking me all these questions about Russian Federation and if I ever talk to them.

"I got so nervous and confused", he says.

Telling anyone and everyone he never talked to the Russians, McKinnon's Sessions changes his tune when Beck Bennett's shirtless Vlad Putin shows up. "I wasn't going to remember it anyway", she replied. "I talked to the Russians", McKinnon immediately said, referring to the recent news of Sessions recusing himself from investigations into his meetings with a Russian ambassador during the 2016 election. His name was Sergey Kislyak. "I got to meet the president and everything". "You don't know me. Now I remember any name with the words "gay kiss" in it".
