Derrick Taylor normally wakes up in the middle of the night to begin his five-mile walk to his 4 a.m. shift at the UPS center in Oxford, Alabama.

Derrick Taylor had been making this trek for more than a year and his co-workers were so impressed by his dedication, they all pitched in and bought the 19-year-old the gift of a lifetime: a SUV of his own.

A video posted to social media shows the workers giving the SUV to an emotional Taylor.

In the footage, a colleague gives Taylor the keys to the auto and says: "This is a hard working young man". Jokes and laughter are exchanged between Taylor and his work crew, but underlying the banter is a deep-rooted gratitude. This group here, we've got so for you. Everybody came together and you don't have to walk no more.

Derrick Taylor isn't just another 19-year-old with his own auto. "I never thought those people cared that much, but I was ecstatic", Taylor told The Post of receiving his gift, adding that he didn't think to ask for help because he didn't want to bother anyone. "He makes me emotional, so don't nobody laugh at me".

Taylor has been working since he was 14 to support his family - and this vehicle has given him a glimpse of his future.

"This is really gonna change a lot", he said, receiving the vehicle.

"It's a great feeling to know that I got people around me like that", Taylor said. "I wanna move up at UPS and become a [truck] driver and with the money I make as a driver I want to invest into something profitable", he told the Daily Mail.
