No doubt the Xperia XZ Premium captured the attention of the MWC crowd and people at Sony Mobile are delighted with the good news.

The GSMA, a pan-European organisation that conducts the Mobile World Congress annually, also hosts the Global Mobile Mobile Awards (GloMo) which present awards to the best tech companies in various categories.

The Mobile World Congress 2017 and the GSMA somehow gave Sony a boost since the company has been checking on the phone's performance. In 2017 they awarded statuettes to over 40 winners.

The Xperia XZ Premium comes with a 5.5-inch display, and the Gorilla Glass 5 wraps around the entire phone giving it a fancy look. We already told you that Samsung nabbed the “Best Smartphone of 2016” prize, but now we learn that Sony has won the “Best new smartphone” award for their latest Xperia XZ Premium.

The device sports a 4K HDR display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

As noted before, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 835 and comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, expandable with a microSD card. The flagship runs on Android 7.1 Nougat straight and is equipped with 2,900mAh non removable battery with quick charge support.

Making Sony Xperia XZ Premium a clear victor is the Motion Eye camera system that brings more advanced features, resulting to high quality images even with the 960fps Super slow motion video capture. Sony has embedded fast memory right into the camera stack which allows the smartphone to capture video at an astonishing 960 frames per second.

The rear end of the phone is equipped with a 19MP rear camera having an aperture of f/2.0 and comes with SteadyShot and an "Anti-distortion" shutter and the front face of the phone is equipped with 13MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0 for selfies.
