LG started taking preorders for the gadget last Thursday through mobile operators SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus, after unveiling it in Barcelona, Spain on February 26. Still, its revamped design, a spectacular screen with a novel format and certain details such as resistance to water and dust appear to be attractive enough to have plunged 40,000 South Koreans in just 4 days.

Just to be clear, 400,000 customers have already registered for the Snapdragon 821-powered G6 and part of why we feel that those numbers are at a higher level is because of the number of freebies the company is offering. The company also offered a discount on one of the accessories for the device like the LG TonePlus Bluetooth headset, or Rolly keyboard 2 as well as a one-year screen replacement warranty and a free case.

The LG G6 features a 5.7-inch QHD + "Full-Vision" display (2880 × 1440 pixels resolution) with a unique 18:9 aspect ratio, a dual camera setup with two 13-megapixel sensors and a battery bigger than 3,300mAh. As the 2016 device failed to appeal to a mainstream audience, the South Korean phone maker chose to go back to the basics with the LG G6 and ship a more conventional device.

For LG, much is riding on the success of the G6.

Meanwhile, for those in Europe, a recent leak revealed the price tag, but we dont have a release date.

Once the device releases in South Korea, we will have more clarity on when LG will bring the device to other markets. The launch event in Barcelona was more packed than anyone could have anticipated, however, the company also put in some effort towards ensuring that more people sign up for the phone, at least in South Korea.
